I have had this scoop for over 30 years, waiting for a 55 Chevy to put it on. I had a friend put it in his swap meet booth the other day and a gentleman told him it was an Almquist, he had run one on his 409 powered early Vette in the 60s. I know I haven't seen another like it. Most have the mounting bolt flanges on the outer perimeter of the scoop, this scoops has bosses for bolts on the inside.

  4. Here's the 58 year old Speed Sport scoop on my roadster. Required making a new hood, but it was worth it to be able to run this piece of history!

Its amazing how many different little 2bbl air cleaners are out there, i have about 10 singles that have no partners!

Granted, I had to fab a new base to sit a bit lower than the original Vette part, but I managed to cram this....

Mine was a 10 horse electric motor end bells and some time on my lathe. Once I noticed the fins it had to be done.

nope, but have been running one on the 54 for about 10yrs now. Looks like an Almquist purchase. Not too sure though.

I just bought one NOS in the original box. MFG date was probably before 1963 as the address on the box has no zipcode.

Hey "ShakeyPuddin' "- I love the parts display (in the Living room?). I put a rebuilt tranny in the kitchen one time to see my old lady's reaction (none) and when I brought it back to the garage, she wanted to know where the "cute thing "in the corner went . Love the thread-old boat air scoops are cool. Mike from Mass. Happy Holidays
