VINTAGE 1960’s DRAG MOTOR COMPLETE PONTIAC 389 BORED 4.185 JE DOME PISTONS GASSER NOSTALGIA

Very Rare Survivor Find… Here’s the story:

Found at an auction… It looks like it was put together in the 1960’s. I had to outbid a scrapper who was just going to take it to the salvage / recycling yard. There was a unique finned WEIAND timing chain cover on it, so I figured it wasn’t just an old stock Pontiac motor. I tore it apart and found when they built it, they never put the one plug on the back of the motor that would seal the oil in the engine. I’m assuming they tried to fire the motor up and it didn’t hold any oil pressure, so they shut her down and never got back to making this project work right. I picked it up 7 years ago at an auction. Really great for an old GTO or Pontiac drag car.
