Customs This once WAS a very rough 1937 Zephyr 3 Window Coupe

Just found this post & blasted through whole thing. Very concerned u in penn state & have no title. Very concerned u get title unless other plans as part of school project. Better check state laws & talk to someone to get good paperwork. Good luck

Worst case i have a sedan title i will figure something out. I am far from needing a title. Tonight i started laying out the cut lines on the sedan and on the coupe. I plan to cut the coupe tomorrow and finish laying out rear of sedan. Check it out.

I, too, am very anxious to see this come together! You definitely have a lot of work ahead of you, though.

Picked up two rough zephyrs today, a 36 coupe sedan and a 39 sedan.

 

Will they be blended, similarly?

 

I'm dying to see that coupe chunk melded into that sedan tub.

 

I plan on building the 36 coupe sedan. That car is #89 of 1814 made. I will use my 37 sedan roof and the 39 dash to make the 36 coupe sedan. I will then use the 39 rear fenders on my 37 coupe. Lots of work but a lot of parts have been located. It all takes time. Planning to cut the roof on the sedan in the near future. My coupe doors and trunk should be ready to go in the next couple weeks and then I can really get to working on it all.

That coupe sedan side profile reminds me so much of a Aussie ford sloper

Let the bracing begin, I plan to get a lot done over the next few months stay tuned.

 

I recently pulled the suspension and purchased a frame table to do the conversion on. I am hoping to make some progress over the next couple months.

 

Looking forward to seeing the sedan cut to accept the Coupe rear. Is that spare on the sedan hinged to access the trunk or a help in changing a tire? Bob

 

Maybe I have missed it but I don't see a CarTronic or other electronic measuring system.
I have over 60 years I the collision industry and I-Car certified but every time I took the test they taught it to you in the morning and you had lunch then took the test in the afternoon.
I think the I-Car test is basicly to shield the insurance co. from any liability. Where as the ASE test you walk in the room and take the test without being prepped. I am certified in both
I-Car and ASE collision and paint as well as estimating. Know what's is included or not included in the repair is where the $$$ are. Read the P-PAGES. I firmly believe that the labor should be in Dollars not labor hours. The door goes up the hours go down and the Tec. gets less money for doing the same job. Sorry for being on my soap box. Frank

 

Wow, this reminds me of a 40 Lincoln Zephyr convertible ( only 7 were built) that I helped prep for restoration, every time we opened the doors the dogs were barking.....was one of the sedans purchased from an estate that had a pit mine? We only purchased vehicles that had titles, a sedan and a few other misc vehicles did not have titles.
