I couldn't agree more. Vern gets to take a bow, and keep on giving to the community. I may have to change my plans this weekend as I am only an hour away. Wow.

I was there a couple of months ago, good amount of hot rod stuff. I guess at these prices it's only stock parts?

  7. Anybody returning east after the sale, please bring me two nice '30-'31 front fenders! I'm good for the $200! I'll even slip you a little for the gas! :D

Sure wish he had a shop in NC!

  9. To me, Looking at the list of stuff for sale. It looks like he is just cutting some of the dead weight. Stuff he doesn't need hundreds of. Stuff that is replaceable. I don't see any rare parts or even semi rare parts. He's just letting go of stuff he no longer needs hundreds of. He's been doing this a long time and deserves to take a break.....Somehow I know that he will be involved with these old cars till the day he dies. It may not be everyday for pay. But a guy that immersed in them probably can't 100% step away. Not working on them will allow him to enjoy some of the other aspects of the hobby and hopefully give him the time to write some more books on Old Fords. His knowledge has been and will continue to truly be invaluable to future generations and I hope he can devote some time to that in the future. I wish him luck in his future endeavors.

I don't guess any of you west coast boys would want to hook up a TN bumpkin? Im looking to build an intake for a gmc 302 inline 6 running 5 carbs and would love to see if someone could pick up 5 or 6 complete 97 carburetors that match. I would gladly pay shipping and purchase price with a bit for your time. I know its sacrilege to use Vern's stuff on a jimmy, but its all going in a Model a coupe if that helps. Whatya say boys?

    Anyone driving anything interesting over?

    (I'm driving my Chevy 1500 pickup) ;)

Love the sign story Ryan. Being a signwriter that has a special significance to me as well. Cheers, Doug

  28. Missed opportunity! We were just in Santa Rosa two weeks ago for the day. We were staying in nearby Petaluma so I was going to stop by just to say I was at Vern's but ran out of time.
Hope you enjoy retirement Vern. You deserve it for sure.

Smart man, I admired him for a long time and always hoped someday I would meet him and pick his brain. For those of you lucky enough to make the sale I envy you, I know it will be a blast!
