Here are some pictures from yesterdays Ash Bash held here in Vancouver WA. Here is a great flat Caddy powered "A" tub. There was lots more great stuff that I just blew off....to freggin' hot!
Shit i wish i knew i was in the area with work. I woulda stoped buy and blown a CF card w/ pictures Garth
great bunch of shots Iceberg. That's the neat part about the HAMB and so many other net sites you get to see stuff that the magazines never print. And when you are on the other side of the world that is a good thing
We were honered by getting a "Pok Pic" award for having just a "cool" car, as were some other homebuilders. Coming from the SLO POKS, a club active since 1952, made the day. Upon this, the "chainer" next to us said "I'm goin home and primer my 10K purple paint job"...........And LEFT!!!!!!!!.....Was a good day!!!!!.........OLDBEET
The Ash bash used to be one of my favorite shows to attend, I drove up from San Francisco from year in my car to attend. I think my first year was 82
Great talent with the photo's and picking some very cool vintage tin. Way to fill up the frame with the subject. Neat, neat, neat.
Thanks everyone for the pics, I liked all of them esp the A's, Hey Old Beet, that merc is kooool, tell your lady I said "thumbs up!"
I saw you pull in Oldbeat, great Merc. I live just up the hill from Mark "Briz" Brizlawn, the owner of the Cat Piz Special and the Salt Flat Rat. The Cat Piz Special is a early Dodge touring body (front half) powered by a Study V-8 w/ tons of vintage speed equipment, a three speed and a quick change rear. He has a great collection of nostagia rods & is great source of information and tools. I was hoping someone took some picture of the flathead powered bucket with the home made headers w/ spiderwebs. Really cool, but I spaced off taking a picture. I also won a cool print and award with my pickup. The guy next to me in his billet machine didn't get even many looks being surrounded by crusty traditional rods and tattooed folk. Great time again was had by all!
That Caddy gets around the Portland car scene. The two guys that own it are close.....very close, & look alot like Wayne & Garth from Saturday Night Live. That hood is really wild. That old moredoor Caddy sure gets quite alot of attention when it shows up.
