I plan on adding this vacuum gauge with my Airguide tach and 'old style G.P.S! Does anybody have vintage vacuum on their rides???
Years ago, I was looking into buying a '66 Caprice 396 and it had one in the console just ahead of the shifter.....
My 56 came with this one mounted where the clock went and it works but I'm going to switch to the large SW vacuum gauge in the add on panel underneath. I was tickled to get this early large SW vac gauge that matches the rest.
OOH I can play this game! This one is in my 32.. I think if I ever sold the car it would be with a hole where this gauge should be.. Would love to know what year it is. It has a very thick beveled edge glass.
I know I have seen some sites to plug in the patent number to get the exact date of the patent itself. Style wise, it looks mid? 20s to me.
I have a regular round one in a cup that mounts like a tach and I also have this green pod gauge that I think measures vacuum but honestly I don't even know. I'd like to use it in a car, it has a 60's Roswellian look to it but it's kind of an awkward size. Anyone recognize it?
55 Fairlane. I added a vaccum tank for the wipers and installed 2 gauges, one under dash and one at the tank.
Hope this works.. Thanks pre enfo! Mine has the knob to reduce the vacuum getting to the gauge, presumably to check for a fluttering signal at idle to check valve sealing? So it was patented in 1932..assuming he then sold the design to Stromberg..makes the gauge 32-to ....say 35. awesome!
