    Thats a sweet start..

I only have one suggestion...try to find a way to lower the grille shell some..when the shell is higher than the cowel it throws off the look , lines, and flow.

maybe a sectioning is in order here, just for the grille shell and a shorter radiator?

(maybe its just the angle of the shot? )

Does it have overdrive? A good idle so it never stalls? Safety tubes? Good brakes, fair tires? Inquiring minds want to know :D

Not bad fellas. I like it. At least you won't have the overheating issues. That color looks like Packard engine green...is it? Good choice if it is. I'd love to hear it some time. The noise will probably be the only thing you "feel" when it's runnin. What's the engine out of?

It does have a 3 speed with electronic over drive, torque tube and banjo rear. It does idle well but it does not have brakes yet, those are going on in the next week or so. New Coker tires, not sure what safety tubes you are talking about......

In case some people still don't know what we're talking about:

The original version of the "Hot Rod Lincoln" song had a V-12 Lincoln motor in it. And except for the gearbox and maybe carb, you've got a good match. Fun stuff!

"Got 12 cylinders, I use 'em all, got Overdrive, never stalls...
Got a 4 barrel carb, dual exhaust, 4 revvin' gears you can really get lost,
Got safety tubes, but I ain't scared, the brakes are good, tires fair."

(I always thought safety tubes were just a brand or variety of inner tube.)

I must disagree on the "match"... The original sat on a shortened lincoln chassis, had fenders, parade car height roof, and in my opinion was butt ugly..lol sorry for being so blunt..lol

That (4.11 gears) sounds more correct - I've heard the original but not recently, like lots of other people I first thought it was a Commander Cody and his Lost Planet Airmen song

  28. I agree that the Charlie Ryan car was not too pretty, but man, it really was the "Hot Rod Lincoln"!!!

The original "Hot Rod Lincoln" car was (as others said) a bit out of proportion, maybe even ugly. But I'm pretty sure the song came first, then that car was built to hype the song.

If you happen to make a car that matches the song AND looks better, I think it's great. The fact that you weren't thinking of the song when the car was built probably makes the car better anyway. You car looks sweet.

yes it was, he wrote the song in the early 50's after he built the car...i think Cody re-popped it in the 60's
