Late friend Joe Esperanca (Santa Clara, 1942-2010) had a restored '30 'A' roadster he built into a beautiful full fendered 'street rod'...
Joe had a 3.8 V-6 built and outfitted it with a 4-71 pump...work was meticulous. Joe was a 'Street Stock' racer, and wanted to 'showcase' a V-6, spent lots of $$ afterward, drove it one season and replaced it with a 350 Vortek.
I told him so... Sure miss him...we nicknamed him "Bluto".

get a GMC 305....same power, twice the weight! and you can't bolt up much of anything to it.

  3. Okay. I stand corrected.
Our friend here said he had an old 90 deg. , based off a 305.
    So, there are no 3.5 90 degree engines...just 3.0 200, 3.8 229, and 4.3 262's

  4. Yep get a GMC 305 and get poor fuel economy. but you can pull the steepest grade in high gear. And some of them have really cool pilad valve covers.

  5. Still in the build stage and not driving. The plan is to use a shift cable attached to the stock column.
