Let see if I'm looking at this right. I want to replace the upper control arm bushings on my 1952 Lincoln Capri. I believe I have a handle on this but correct me if I'm missing anything.

    1. Place jack under lower control arm and jack up the front.
    2. Remove wheel
    3. loosen upper ball joint, pop apart with "tuning fork".
    4. Remove upper cross bar bolts.
    5. Remove entire upper control arm assembly
    6. Remove cross bar from upper control arm
    7. Press out old control arm bushings
    8. Press in replacement control arm bushings
    9. Reassemble and pray:D

It has been over 20 years since I have done this so I keep thinking I am forgetting something.

  2. Sounds about right, of course expect some sniveling since you forgot to mention using a jackstand. The press in-and-out thing is probably 99% of the task.

I will use a jackstand somewhere under the frame just for safety but then I'm not going to wear safety glasses and I am going to run with scissors after I get the car back together!
