Here is the original post, this was when I started a couple months ago. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=198235&highlight=1956+buick+wagon Here it is now, the hood was filled and peaked by Marcos at Lucky 7 Customs in Antioch. Here is the car fresh out of the paint booth, almost ready to be back in my garage so I can get the new tranny in it! Hopefully in time by Billetproof! Thanks for lookin'
A couple of my freinds own the Maaco here in town, and they did it on the side...I did alot of the work, then guided me along and they sprayed it!
Nice ride. I like them buick wagons. We have a O/T 96 roadmaster wagon we have been trying to sell but cant get what we want due to the high miles. Last year for the big rear wheel drive/LT-1. We're considering hanging on to it and doing a few custom things to it
Thanks to everyone for the words, I am going to powder coat the wheels black and run my olds hubcaps on it!! Thanks man, hey do you think I will make it in The SF Cow Palace show with it? I know it isn't suede, but That is kind of my goal for getting it finnished so I can drive it to that show and enter it in the bottom room with everyone! When you hear about information on that show send it my way!
I like wagons anyway and so I really like that. Buicks of this era are rare enough anyway and a wagon is just too cool!
Hey Man, they stole all your trim when they painted your car!! Seriously, looks great! Post some new ones when she's all back together. 51FourDoor
GODDAMN BRENT! That thing looks so rad.... You really make me miss my wagon man... you had to and paint yours white like mine too! Lookin awesome bro, goon on ya! -J.
Thats w hat I thought, but I took the chrome off and forgot where I put it, so I was going crazy! but I found it in my closet, next to the new wheels, thats wherew car parts go right?
Sorry man! I told you get your wagon rollin and we will cruise to paso, I think that would look bad ass! Do you have any pictures of the whole car? I have never seen the paint scheme on it!
Some pictures as of today, I started putting things back together, the bumper on the back is on, the lights, I modified them by adding another taillight upside down, and portholes and lights are all back on, one step at a time, but I am buffing out all the stainless side trim, so it shines and then I am putting it on, I also am dropping off the wheels to the powder coater tommorow morning! Enjoy
Looks bitchin'! But what I wanna know is how you rigged the latching of the liftgate, with the handle shaved off... I've been trying to figger out a way to do that to my 56 Buick wagon for years, and it hasn't quite come to me yet!
It isnt done yet, but it is along the same lines of a door popper, it runs a rod up through the bottom of the window frame, and when the pop pops, it pops the opposite way of a door pop, instead of popping outwards, it pulls the pin in and you can grab the windowand open it... it is like an electronic latch that runs along with the door poppers... I guess it is harder to explain, but i will post pictures onceI finnish it!
Man that kinda sucks, ever since I signed up on Myspace I remember seeing that thing, totally dug it and associated the color scheme with the car. The paint looks bitchin and looks to be a really really nice job. Definately a car to be proud of, I just have to get used to a different car on the net!
c'mon Kevin... there are rules to this board!! It is alot more strict than "the other ones" Hey Paint your ranchero, primer is out of style!! jerk!
