The Synergy family of engines are high performance V8 designs ranging from 2000 to 3000cc.

The engines have been race proven across a number of disciplines since 2007, and are highly developed to provide state of the art levels of weight and specific power. Modern motorcycle cylinder head technology is used to provide high specific power levels at competitive cost of ownership.

The engines have been designed and developed in a modular configuration in order to be suited to a wide range of applications and installations, ranging from club racing to championship high level motorsport. Front and mid-engine locations, gasoline and alternative fuels, and even stressed mounting retrofits for single seat applications. Many control options are developed and available.

    Engine configurations available:

    2000cc V8 - >400hp, 14,500rpm maximum. Finger follower valve train. S1000RR cylinder head.

    2400cc V8 - 405hp, 11,600rpm maximum. Cost effective performance. ZX12R based.

    3000cc V8 - 515hp, 10,900rpm maximum. High performance, ZX12R / ZX14R cylinder head

  17. I love the variation of engines that this thread shows and have a question that this Synergy family of engines has made me ask.......in that pic of the Synergy engine design it shows what I assume to be the oil filter upside down at the front between the cylinders........so when you change the oil I would think with the filter in this position the filtered oil would still via gravity run down thru the engine..........or, if you change the filter before changing the oil oil from the filter would run all over the engine, albeit only at the front but still not the best from what I can see.............so.........is it me that has this wrong and am I missing something?............Oh and I am certainly NOT an engine designer in any shape or form and dips my lid(hat) in respect to all those that have been and are........lol..........Andy Douglas

  18. There was a movie made of the race that the special was entered in, and I watched the whole thing in 1955. I remembered it leading most of the race, and the fact that it didn't finish. I didn't remember why it failed to finish, but I do remember how excited everyone was that a Diesel was in a position to win until the engine died.

  19. I have been running a Hone o Drive in my truck since 1971, and although they stopped making them for awhile, they are now back in production. I didn't check the prices, but when I bought mine in 1971, it cost me $700. I don't know what the new units cost, but in today's dollars, I paid $4,336.00, and it was worth every penny, because I ran 4.57 gears and still got good mileage.

If I wanted to to add an OD in a less expensive way, I would find and install a T5.

The vertical tube for the bevel gear/shaft drive of the OHC along with the green paint say it’s a Duesey to me. Might be a Duesenberg Model A.

The reason the car didn’t finish the race, I’m told, was because the intake for the air had a fine screen mounted kinda low to the track and picked up rubber bits from the tires. This clogged up, started the diesel smoking, got black flagged due to smoke. IIRC, they then outlawed the diesel for the 1956 race because of that.

that Pierce-Arrow engine kind of reminds me of the old America/LaFrance fire engine engines.
