Hey Guys, recently a customer of us, bringed this axle... Any info on this dropped axle? It's forged or cast? Good or bad... Please give us your opinions Sent from my Mi A1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Could be a Vintage Chassis Works Axle, but it’s been a long time since I’ve seen any of their products????......
looks like a counterfit Superbell. It has a winged logo....but its not Superbells winged logo.Im betting made in China.Could be cast.
If it a Vintage Chassis Works axle it will have this identifier forged on it. Look for a wide parting line on top and bottom, that is indicative of a forging, a casting will only have a slender, knife edged parting line.
I think what I feared came true ... it a Chinese cast axle... Sent from my Mi A1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
'Lawman Speed Shop', 'Lucky 7' and related others market this axle, $100. (it was used as a 'leader' to all their other Chinese parts. Hoffman Group. Beware! ) YES. CAST. I've seen these (3 or 4) on 'rollers', for sale. Front springs also 'strange', although a standoff (20 ft.) looked like a good deal! I have one of these thrown in with good stuff I got in a trade. My V860 tubes and real axles hang on a wall, this one stands up below...not 'tall', either.
If I have to make a list I would say: 1. Ford OEM 2. aftermarket forged axle. 3. Cast (No way Jose) Sent from my Mi A1 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app

Hoffman Helix stuff, casting. I was on the fence with all the negative comments on it until I decided to get a forged aftermarket. Look at the pictures and then decide. Black one is Hoffman/Helix
Chrome plated cast.Wonder if embrittlement played a part.Somehow I don't see the Chinese baking that axle after chroming.
I’m not throwing stones at any manufacturer but that looks like a Super Bell dropped tube, not a Chinese knock off.
