Added an 1156 signal socket to the tail lights to make wiring easier and better visibility. Painted the inside of the housing white to illuminate better.
Brake and clutch pedal linkage is installed. Changed the orientation of some bolts and substituted others. Marked the trunk lid sides for trimming & finally added rad rod support...

Fuel tank straps are bolted in.
Had to remove the rad and drill new mounting holes to move the bottom of the rad closer to the firewall. I used the holes that were fitted and that made the bottom of the hood sides 3/4" wider than it should have been. Drilled a new hole in the rad mounting tab to move it 1/2" closer to FW. Today I made a change to the roll pan. I got lazy when I first made it and thought I wouldn't angle one line and after I fitted it knew right away how odd it looked so I trimmed it and rewelded a piece in. Next sand the filler and re prime. IMG_4209.JPG IMG_4222.JPG IMG_4223.JPG IMG_4224.JPG IMG_4227.JPG

  19. Very clean, very nice, very tidy. Love it.
Are there silencers of some kind in those exhaust boxes?

No silencers... Just some triangular wedges in the plenum to bounce the exhaust around?? I don't know if I am going with these exhaust but I need to get it running to check noise and decide if I keep them.

I'm kind of late on this comment/question. Back on Feb 21 st you showed what I think it is a fuel tank vent. It looks like it is located inside the trunk. I would think it should be terminated outside. Are you concerned at all about fumes? I am not trying to be negative here. Maybe I canlearn something from you about vents. I have been enjoying your build. Your wiring is top notch btw.

The vent as per the instructions should be mounted higher than the filler cap. Problem is on nearly all car applications where do you mount it where it is functional and out of sight. I knew there may be a problem with fumes but will see once it is on the road to see if there are any noticeable fumes. It will eventually have a paneled interior so this would be in the trunk airspace. Just another thing that I may have to rethink.

He said it is a check valve, which I think will allow air into the tank but won't allow fumes to come out. At least I hope that is the case as fumes are explosive and you wouldn't want fumes contained in the trunk area!

  24. My Deuce tank breather comes up through trunk floor near right wheel tub (behind upholstery). It goes up vertical about 8 " above floor, then I turns downward through floor.
Yes, still fumes into garage at times.
A charcoal filter or fume valve would help, but at least it doesn't vent inside body.

  25. You will get some smell from the check valve. Depending on how you seal the interior, it may not be a problem. I have used that on 3 different builds before. You are making nice progress. Some nice personal touches. :)

Dash wiring is mostly done. A wooded platform works great to hold the panel while working. Engine and headlights are done... IMG_4423.JPG IMG_4425.JPG IMG_4426.JPG IMG_4429.JPG IMG_4432.JPG

Roll panel has been installed to attach tail light wiring. Under dash wiring almost done and needs to be tidied up. Sand blasted some final parts and installed conventional headers to use for start up...
