    I took the advice of wfo guy... I found a friend of a friend that has a lathe so I had him machine a 7/16" bolt down to 3/8" so I could use the proper spring to make the radiator install correct.

    I'm betting on the locomotive. Is Endura a Canadian company? Now what I'm really interested in is your painting in sub zero temps (zero Celsius is 32* Farhenheight for those not on the Metric/Celsius systems). What type of paint is it? Any special prep? Made especially for cold weather painting? Cost per s really intrigues me...

    I went to Endura's web site and they state that painting temps should be betweeen 20-25* Celsius so how do you manage to paint in such a cold temp?

    Fortunateson... Painting at 0 degree temperatures is no problem. I pull the item outside just before I start painting. I put 3 coats on waiting about 10 minutes between coats. The parts get cold but I like the fact that Endura lays on so nice in these temperatures and with the proper technique there is less chance of orange peel but have to be careful not to lay it on too thick and get runs. When I am done I bring it back in the shop which is usually at 70 degrees and within 5 minutes the parts are warm and the drying begins.
    ENDURA is geared more to be an industrial coating and you wouldn't find conventional bodyshops using it. It is mixed 1 to 1 then spray. I've found some colors like white need some thinner to get it to flow better. For some reason it can be too thick and have a tendency to orange peel.
    It is a very hard finish and holds up extremely well in adverse conditions. Whenever possible parts that I want painted, if I don't have to do any body work to them all I do is sand blast and paint directly to the metal. It does not chip off easily.
    The red on the frame cost $100.00 per quart for the color and $50.00 per quart for hardener.

    Ok now I understand though the "painting in sub-zero temps" was a tad misleading as it implied the curing/drying as well. I couldn't figure out how the chemistry would work at such low temps. Thanks for tip about Endura in Surrey. I'll investigate further.

    Really intrigued by the painting out in the cold idea. No bugs, no stupid cotton from the trees, no leaves falling, good lighting. Just have to figure out how to move the OT car out of the driveway with its spin on the ice summer tires. The joy of building cars in Canada.

    Yes was painted outdoors yesterday in below zero temperature IMG_3888.JPG IMG_3889.JPG IMG_3890.JPG IMG_3886.JPG IMG_3887.JPG . I'm not happy with the finish. Of all the parts painted to date this looks the worst but it's going to have to do.
    More progress with fuel filler installed and mocking up heater bypass hose...

    If you ever get to my friend Roy Brizio's, look up on the shelf or in the shop. He has no quams about building 'glass cars. And his customers can surely afford what they want. I mfg. 'glass bodies & cars for years and most, like Subarus , are still on the road somewhere. Just build what u can & DON'T put it off. See ya on the road....someday. Answers still free here.....

    Panel has nutserts installed to attach fuse panel...

    The floor is sanded and masked off to be painted gray. Only had 2 wheels arrive from American Racing so had them mounted to the tires. Mounted the rears on the front to get a feel how it will look.
    Installed the upper rad hose. Just need to trim to fit.

    They are available and the supplier I used was Vintique Inc. #B-8130-S --- 1928 / 48 Original Black Radiator Mounting Kit ---

    Painted out doors in sub zero weather and dried indoors at appropriate temp... that process really intrigues me. Your paint lays out very well, do you think that is due to the cold temps when applying?

    Today the floor was painted.
    Fuse block panel installed.
    Fortunateson The cooler temperatures will always let the paint flow out more but proper mixing procedures also need to be followed for proper viscosity.

    E-brake cables and brackets are in.
    Body aligning pins are ready and brackets attached to rear of body to attach tiedown straps to hang body from body hoist.

    Only a few things done today...
