Just picked these up. Never seen anything like it before. 16” 5x5 with an embossed pinstripe rim. Found some marking but hard to figure them out.

Anybody help with what they are, or what they’re from?

Does it say 400 as in metric diameter or is it 4.00 as in width?

Start with confirm/ measure the bolt pattern dimension.
    Diameter of center hole ?
Put some WD40 on your finger and rub on the stamping info on the wheel.
The stamping info may show up more identifiable.
    Work from there.

Nice detail, some GM's shared similar detail, Olds, Pontiac etc.

Or, it could be something completely different. I think I saw something like that on a carnival wagon at the Minnesota State Fair many yerars ago.

  12. I have also dug into pics of Pontiac, Olds, Caddy, and LaSalle which are all the same as the Buick. All those had 5x5 BC with a big hub hole.
Jim, I would rather have the cookie than the cigar. LOL

I think these are aftermarket wheels, maybe made by Budd and/or branded as Goodyear, they were supposed to emulate the "artillery" wheel but without having the windows in them. I know I've seen them before.

Who'd a thought that we would find, yet another, use for WD 40.
