Great story, thanks for the heads-up Joey. Believe you just set the JJ record for earliest post?

That's a interesting take on a dual circuit braking system, was that common?

I agree. A traditional dual resevoir loophole. Awesome car and great write up.

That car has to be one of the most sinister looking 55 Fords I have ever seen. I hope it gets brought back to its former glory. The only thing I would change would be the addition of a 427 Ford SOHC.

  14. Awesome.

    I love that thing.

I think that car was shown on one of those reality shows. I am not certain but the car is very familiar to me where on T.V. (could be American Pickers) there was a car stored up on a shelf.

That car has been the subject of a previous thread on here.

I'd like to know what happened to it.

That is awesome! Sadly, looks like the 406 and the four speed are gone?

I'm pretty certain that this car is now owned by Ron Graham in Tidewater Virginia. He bought it off of ebay a couple of years ago. He is well known in our area for finding and retrieving vintage hot rods and recalling the stories of the "finds" in great detail to all who will listen.

Maybe I am mistaken about seeing it on T.V. and perhaps I saw it on this site.

It was definitely in a thread earlier here on the Hamb.

Knowing what happened to it after it was "found" would be great.

What happened to it is, I bought it off ebay June 1911 and haven't done much with it yet. Hopefully I'll have it going by summer '14. I love gassers and am planning on running 390 with dual quad intake. I plan on making it some what streetable. I've noticed some questions about the brakes. It has a dual brake/clutch master cylinder. The pictures show it with sbc and auto trans. At that time a plate was put on to connect pedals making it larger. Sad to say I will probably run c6 trans, mainly because at 6'4" I wouldn't be able to operate clutch pedal sitting so close to it. I will try to keep progress posted.

I thought about sbc, I have 5 or 6 327s and 4 munsies including a rock crusher, offy tunnel ram, fenderwell sbc headers and abunch more sb stuff and since a sb once was under the hood, but I also have some fe stuff so ford in ford and chevy in my 57 chevys. I guess it was 2011 and not 1911.

Do you have any pictures of the engine bay/firewall and front & rear suspension that you could post?

I do have some photos but I've got to get someone to show me how to post them. If you find the post "55 ford gasser on a shelf", there are some photos there. That post was started around April/May 2011.
