Thank you. That sounds very interesting. What year Chevy? Got any pics of what you did?

It was the receiver setup- I think any of them would work you just need to narrow them to fit the frame of the 59 ford- I narrowed it and flipped the receiver so it fit really nice tucked up behind the bumper. I'll take some pics sometime and send them to ya. The torsion bar hitch is amazing.... no lie. First time I had one it was with a vintage camper and the ranchero pulled it like a dream with it hooked up... without it I couldn't pull it.

  3. Tuck, never seen such a long tail shaft housing on a selector before as that one! What is the plan for that tranny?

Did you stop by the HAMB drags and I missed it?

Oh sweet steering wheel... I can just see the car finished and parked with poofy pillows of fluffy cotton and sparkly beveled mirrors.

That long tail shaft makes it a commercial trans with different gear ratios. I have a theory that the trans was swapped but the drive shaft was too long because of the long tailshaft... I plan to get a roadmaster trans and do a top shift conversion. If anyone has a roadmaster top shift they would sell me let me know.

  13. Works great on lowered vehicles too. Tuck, you are indeed ... quite the teacher. Thanks for helping me learn something about hitchin'. All the big trucks I've had, and I honestly never knew sh#t about torsion hitches. Nice. Cheaper then putting bags on the rear of a dropped truck for sure.

This would make a nice avatar pic if you weren't known already for being the SP hoarder.

Agreed, it sure is a great pic. A '59 Ranch is pretty high on my personal "must own one day" list.

I keep thinking that the star destroyer is going to look like pearl white channeled 29 in issue #42 of Rod+Culture. I'm betting it will be much better with Tuck at the wrenches.

Pure sex! Engine like that in my garage and I'd go celibate, just me and my engine get'n all warmed up, and only ice cold beer to cool us down.

Checking in... Still alive. Changed the bellhousing to the correct one for the lasalle- the other one had been modified and although it worked there were a couple goofy things done that I didn't like.

Ready to start mocking this thing up-

Not much to report spent the last month taking apart a binks paint booth that I'll install in my new shop and working my tail off-
