    SOOOOOO-
The PO painted the bumpers of the fitty silver and globby, i swear it must have said that on the can.
it was bad, see for yourself. (i'd even take rusted chrome over paint)

i dont know about you but i'd rather have shiny bumpers than painted ones.
so a few hours and a can of easy-off

a cheap ol' grinder from the chinese store and a flapwheel plus a chinese store buffer and some good ol mothers paste and you get this!

you can see theres some shine to them, im sure lots have tried this and just like our cars its new to me and im diggin' it.
again i believe its better than crappy painted bumpers. i did find this gibbs penetrant, http://www.roadsters.com/gibbs/#prices
but i didnt know if it was more than a high priced wd-40 or liquid wrench type of snake oil. if it does truly keep/kill rust off im down! any thoughts on this?
anyways i thought i'd share what a few hours of elbow grease would do.
    im happy :D
dont giveup on your previously painted bumpers, theres always poor mans chrome. ;)

Try it on some rusty nuts! You'll be convinced it's the best.

well so far i stripped them with a flapper wheel and a grinder ill post as the days go bay to see if the surface corrosion comes back. after i stripped them initially it took about6-7 days to get a good orange coat on them.
i bought it at http://www.getgibbs.com/ it was 11.98 plus 9.80 for shipping.
i don't know of its effects yet, but so far it seems to be a great lubricant, it claims to reverse the effects of rust as well.

allright so its been about 6 days and aso far this is what i have.
After a liberal coat of Gibbs lube, i came to the conclusion that
    1. i don't know whats in this stuff (still)
    2. bugs love it, and its not the front bumper so i didn't run into the bugs.
    3. it sure does look like its converting the rust.

with various grit of sandpaper and some elbow grease these would problably turn out descent.
i will post more in a week without applying more gibbs.

in this last pic you can tell the usual orange spots are black and semi dry, i havent touched the bumpers in 7 days and the car lives outside. without the gibbs, after 2 days they were orange.
place of residence is south GA.
