Hey Clark, I didn't get a chance to talk to you over the weekend about getting busted, plus I guess you got fed up with telling the same tale. What have they told you to do about it?

  8. The car was issued with a prohibition notice making the MOT void and in turn removing the car from the road.... :D

The car will have to be re-MOTed WITH fenders and the prohibition notice will be removed.

    Then business as usual...

Did it happen on a regular route or is it somewhere you can avoid?

You were pretty unlucky to be honest, in the few run-ins I've had over the years they normally admit that it's a grey area and have let me carry on. Did they explain why they thought it was a violation?

Will they be there when the car is MOT'd or do they want to see it again? Marco had to go for a retest after a tug and the tester just stamped the paperwork due to lack of interest.

  10. Unfortunatly it was 2 mins from home!

I was expecting a slap on the wrist as well. There was mention of mud and water but as it was dry and sunny the reasoning quickly turned to safety. To quote the notice, "Wing/Fender missing presenting a risk of injury".

Striaght forward MOT needed. The tester is a friend but a worrier, so wants to see the car with them fitted!

British people scare me... they keep driving on the wrong side of the road.

That's a bugger, though good that the MOT man is on your side, even if he does want to see the fenders on.

You're probably aware, but construction and use doesn't mention fenders/wings from a point of safety, only regarding spray from the tyres, or at least it did the last time I saw a copy around 4 years ago. Still, it's difficult to argue the case without getting their backs up and making matters worse.
