Great score! Pops had one when I was a kid and I rode thousands of miles crammed in the backseat!

Congrats. Those things are so kool. looks like it was an old drag car judging from the radiused rear fenders.

  12. More pics! Looks like radius wheel openings and a different axle so far. Was it a racer before? I like what yer gonna do with it. That thing is beggin for a 600 hp small block chevy on pumpgas a faceplated TKO 600 (mine has .64-1 O.D. and I love it!) with an Olds rear with 4:88s! Hangon! Keep us posted!

I know technically a big block isn't correct but I have enough parts to put a pretty stout 440 together.

That is correct! Not the best movie, Anglia scenes were the high point.

    Nothing ugly about an Anglia.....
Found this one in an old lady's garage. I rode my bicycle by her house and she was out there with the garage door open. I stopped my bike and asked her if it was for sale.
She said, "well, it's my late husband's car and he really loved it, so I couldn't take anything less than $15 for it".
No shit, Sherlock. I had $12 and my mom loaned me $3 and it was mine.

...well, maybe those goofy fender-mounted headlight pods.

OK, ok, so here's my latest Anglia story (soon to be a separate thread):

I'm at my monthly classic truck club meeting eating pizza and one of the guy's wives says "Anybody want to buy an old car?"

    What kind of old car?

1949 Anglia. My friend's husband has had it since 1966 and now wants to sell it.

Long story short - I went over after dinner and we agreed on a price - what he paid for it in 1966 when he bought it. It had a SBC in it (since sold) and there are two holes in the cowl where someone must have run fenderwell headers out the side. I pick it up Monday. When the title is in my hand I will post pictures and further details on a separate post.

Years ago I did a father / son Anglia project with my boy. I now look forward to doing a grandfather / grandson buildup with this one.

    My son's '48:
