Looking to run 17" or 18 " wires on my fordor, fender less of course. Any suggestions for tyres. Traditionally run 16s so a new direction for me.

  2. Graeme McNeill at Mac's Speed Shop in Auckland has Excelsior tyres available for those sizes...

  3. Excelsior racing ( street too ) would be this style tread pattern.

  4. For my experiences, there are two places you DON'T want to go for wheels:
Wheels Vintique and Dayton Wire Wheels....

I've heard that Vintage Rims in NZ turn out a good product.

Good vintage type tires (or "tyres" in your country), in the USA, are just about as expensive as the wire wheels. The greater the size tire, the higher the price.

I guess it's just me; but, I'd just as soon "run on the rims" than put Coker Tires on.

You might check into the availability of Dunlop Vintage tires in NZ as you might get a better deal than on the Excelsiors
