It was the Best time in History.I drove a Ram AirV Judge to high school.Look up what a RamAirV was.The rareist engine to come outta Detroit. It was also Identicle in color to the one in the movie.Only My Dads would outrun that 55.

wasnt this about the swage line.,sunvisers can be added, but that swage line isnt on a ford.,so the TLB green car has to be a ford.,

I first saw TLB in 1976 and thought the movie was new. The '55 looked so similar to the B/Gasser I built in '72, I used to jokingly tell friends they must have copied my car. I must have seen a pic of the TLB car before I built mine and it stuck in the recesses of my mind. Boy, do I feel dumb now.

Yup! That's it! They followed US 70 through Oklahoma and Arkansas! For some reason I didn't realize it was the Daisy bridge until just now though.

That's an awesome old bridge, and I've crossed it many a time. My Dad used to swim under it when he was a kid. I wonder how many more years it will last before it has to be replaced??

Hahaha! Yes I know that. The same here. They just don't get this movie! I'm trying to build a "clone" of it. We will have make a few car shows over here in Europe as a tribute for the 40th aniversary. Just bought a 70 GTO also. Crazy thing is, that it also has a Flip Front

Wow, you guys really obsess over this :)

Just watched again for the first time in at least 20 years. It's on YouTube as I'm sure you know http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvjO78kWVZ4

Saw half of it last night, was bored a little bit, probably just too tired, then really enjoyed the rest this morning. Enough to find this thread and read up on the behind the scenes and aftermath.

So thanks for your obsession! :)

  15. The movie just popped up in the opening page on youtube....and I watched
    about the first 5 minutes...

And the monumental thought that occurred to me was.....WHAT IF it was Steve McQueen instead of James Taylor.....???

    Holy shit.......HUH?
