  1. Great work and pictures gentlemen. I always was a sucker for a historical restoration, man I love the classics.

What can anyone say... This is flat out one of the best hot rod stories out there! The video taken at the GNRS from Rodder's Journal magazine was special. Hearing Jim Govro speak about Tweety's original build from the fifties, with the rod's newest resurrection from the team at Rex Rod & Chassis and other shops donating their services were priceless... Waiting to see a full spread in The Rodder's Journal magazine in the near future!!

1958 NHRA Nationals Oklahoma City Car Show on Saturday night Labor Day weekend. My brother Jack Ott (1939-2017) took me with him. We had a great time at the drag races and car show. This is one of my pictures. Tweety Bird Tweety Bird.jpeg

  7. It’s been a fantastic day. Weather is picture perfect. It’s been so fun with all the hot rod bloods. Tomorrow will bring a close to this epic restoration preservation. 26AC55DE-AF14-427F-B58D-18255A74A46C.jpeg 1B70BD2D-EC8E-424F-B810-A4ABF4CE8EC2.jpeg 7E3D4654-D113-4512-A24F-01432D172F79.jpeg F16B98E6-C15D-4375-B909-15BD0C067E05.jpeg 2A18EA6F-146B-43EB-88E4-9371574BBC36.jpeg 426F498E-2D74-406A-AA2A-C229EC7C1096.jpeg AA620048-40D0-4EF6-ACC6-BEBCE371CD92.jpeg A5E94055-31C0-4B92-9FF9-A153A451B664.jpeg 99046EFE-A990-4FC4-BCCF-422642E6D9AB.jpeg BCDE9EA9-7FC3-48DA-AE8E-B62B0AD0E59A.jpeg E3DB37E1-A25E-45C2-A6F0-A8A5258D58CE.jpeg 16DB11AF-E854-4E93-9422-C17C1849C7E5.jpeg F43B440E-45D7-4EEE-953A-77ABAA880522.jpeg 590BD75A-697C-4A23-9600-5649013A7BD1.jpeg 7A6B171A-AB56-4144-BB42-BE5E78869DBC.jpeg 2D3022E1-B067-4F23-BD24-C1379DAA95C6.jpeg D878DFB6-C5C4-460A-BD57-CAB1A8A56106.jpeg 5504BB08-3ABA-4D7F-8293-DEB51304F0D1.jpeg F86C3FB9-3976-4C54-B84E-EC7B3A3D9142.jpeg 881B5BC3-1E5F-4210-8041-93C48BA5646E.jpeg 406309D1-1B97-4198-ACBB-A69B9262F48E.jpeg 6FCCAB28-78A1-4052-A259-959105F27931.jpeg B53DB334-2FC4-479A-9BBF-05395AEF04CC.jpeg DAC6380A-57AA-40EC-BA26-ED230DD1D3D7.jpeg 48CC5B36-1A74-44AF-AD00-CAD87F37E5E0.jpeg B115DDE8-8555-4EF8-9DCF-9A07039F0641.jpeg 6AB3E344-8B67-41F7-B421-E4815FEA9D27.jpeg D33DA536-F292-43F1-A11B-1A4C3DBDFA89.jpeg A8D2CF0C-7496-4CD7-A591-C85F4DBA9AFE.jpeg FA2B5D75-6505-47CC-986D-7BB46BD6DA50.jpeg

Should hear the results from the GNRS soon enough. Tweety's resurrection was an outstanding build - the staff at Rex Rod & Chassis and the donated paint job from one of the great TV shows I'm sure are very proud of their efforts!!

AMBR was awesome! We didn’t win but got a real nice plaque. Jim got a super cool jacket. We met Ken Gross and he wants us to bring Tweety to the Pebble Beach Show in August. It’s a invitation show only and what a great honor that is to be invited. Super thanks goes out to everyone who made this possible.

  18. Has a Tardel build ever been to Pebble Beach ?? @HEMI32 @Keith That's an interesting, and fun, question. Whether his dad Vern, or Keith .... that family has turned out some amazing hot rods thru the years. How cool is that ? !!!

I'm also sure Tweety will get some more, spit and polish, from now until then. It's Pebble F#cking Beach !!! Wow.

... and what a hell of a year this will be for Rex Rods .... and how about Jim Govro ??? Yes, sir ! Hold on Mr. Govro, the spotlight isn't done with you, yet.

    Man is this place fun.

  19. I was rootin' for you... You had the only honest Hot Rod up for the AMBR...

  20. Congratulations to everyone involved, had this been a different time when untold amounts of money was not the key factor to winning the AMBR this beautiful yellow roadster just might have had that honor.

There is a lot to be said for a group of individuals coming together to show the pros just how well the average guys can work together and be a contender in the biggest game in town!

It's been said before but for the real world hot rodders here you guys were the winners in our minds. HRP

  21. It is quite possible that somebody with enough money, could buy a car,
hire the right shops and win the AMBR award.
To my way of thinking, there isn't a category that accurately
    fits this car.
So many facets making Tweety the iconic Hot Rod it is.
The big trophy would have only addressed one of them.
It was a winner before it got to the show.

@Tweety's Resurrection Jimi it was a pleasure meeting you and talking on Saturday. The car looked great! I also had a chance to talk with Jim, and what a nice gentleman he is. Congratulations on everything, what a fantastic story! The world is a little better place because of this. God bless you for all you did getting this project rolling and helping Jim get his car back!

  26. So many people came together as one. One tribe, one community, one “Tweety”. Tweety was also picked as one of the top ten cars for Street Rodder Magazine at the GNRS! I’ll share some more of the GNRS pics and build soon. Thank you everyone!
