  3. Oh yeah that is definitely the Tremaine/Buck-Bohls roadster, WOW! you need to convince the sons that building the car like they plan will make a Historic significant Hot Rod worth significantly less than what it would if restored to the '58 HRM version or the earlier postwar Tremaine version. Get them on here to look at the Tweety Bird resto and show them other restorations. If they then sell it they can build a hot rod each.

On the left is my uncle Thurman Lovejoy and this is the circle burner at Oak Hill Downs. Circa 1950's. I'm on it's trail!

Jim went school with August at Austin High. Car clubs, Hot Rods, Drag Racers, and Show Cars were rocking in Austin, Texas in the 1950’s.

Thanks for the pictures of August, I saw him race plenty in San Antonio in my youth and had the pleasure of racing against his 1\2 brother Butch lake. Fond Memories indeed.

Thanks @Tweety's Resurrection for not only sharing this interesting historic Hotrod and build but for also sharing what surrounded it in its glorious past. You have certainly done and continue the walk and it is again a delight to be witness too.

Thanks to the others who were there too adding to what is gracing this thread.

I have buddy who talked about "Hands" back in his drag racing days- (a 57 sedan delivery with an Olds Hydramatic, driven by his brother in law.) l am assuming August is Hands. Said he could palm a slick, carry it or a pair, one in each hand. Said he was hard on steering wheels too. He was a big guy, but Hands makes him look small.

1st pic in #280 shows a pair of "EYE-EEZ'' half moon covers, or we called them eyelids.
Bet the El Camino didn't have any trouble in tow service ….
