Hi all new here. Goin to cut straight to it, I have 32 roadster with a 347 stroker backed up with a tremec tko 5. The engine has 3 Edelbrock 94's runs on center carb till 50% throttle then all 3 open with progressive throttle. Had 3 different people mess with carbs to get it running right. Last guy was close but lost idle control so idles at 1000-1200 rpm. Trying to find someone near northern Illinois that can work on this or fix. Any information would be helpful. Thanks
I know you're proud of your new engine and transmission. However, on this forum, you'll be better of referring to them as "a small block Ford with a manual transmission". A word to the wise.
Welcome to the HAMB. Step one, with tri powers, the usual advice is to block off the end carbs and linkage and get it running well on center carb.
You can make the carbs work. But you will have to go through them carefully Starting with a guess. The two secondary carbs need to be able to shut down completely. You may have to remove the cast iron bases so you can see well what is going on with the fit of the the throttle plates. They don't have to shut down perfect when you only run one carb . But when you run a progressive set up you need them to fit well and to close well. The screws that hold the plates have peened ends. But you can do it. Slack the off a hair and adjust the plates so they close the best they can. Also you don't want the plates digging into the barrels so adjust your idle speed screws back so the they only work as a stop so the plates don't dig into the barrels .This is a good time to see if the power valves have been blocked off or replaced with blanks which are available at your local parts store. It can be done and it is fun.
I ran 6 94s on a 276 Desoto hemi for 11 years. They were all full of gas and I got decent fuel mileage as well. 27 T bucket desoto hemi 6 jugs full of fuel - YouTube 1927 ford - YouTube
