  1. Thanks Phil, are you gonna be racing your Henry J this weekend at Lancaster?

Wowie ,,I just went through this whole thread,,not sure how I missed it,,but subscribed now.Just a quick question how is that steering box/peddle assembly that fits under your cowl mounted. You say that your firewall and side panels mount to that frame work but I must have missed how it was mounted at the bottom.Great work,,cheers

It's kind of hard to see but there is a large body mount on the frame built out of 1/4" plate. There is also a mount similar to that built into the sub floor of the body. Once the body is bolted down with the 6 bolts in the front. The cowl frame bolts to the same sub floor mounts with 8 bolts on the bottom. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1406682283.879847.jpg
Then there are 4 more bolts mounting it at about the middle of the A pillar. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1406682376.917856.jpg
Then there are 2 more bolts on the top of the frame bolting it to the top of the firewall. It's solid as hell and probably a little over done but I wanted it as strong as possible.

  11. Well I'm finally done buffing this pig. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1407446780.149223.jpg

    Both doors are on ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1407446843.883048.jpg

Last night I got the rear axle bolted up and aligned. Also installed the driveshaft I had built at Denny's Driveshaft. I had them make it in 2" diameter tube so I had a little extra room in the tunnel. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1407447053.353629.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1407447066.884989.jpg

    How she lookin now??

  14. I'm on vacation this week so I didn't get a lot of time to work on the car. I did get the parking brake cables all hooked up and working. The door handles and latches are on. I'm not gonna run the zoomie headers that I built. After looking at them for so long and thinking about them. I decided to go with a driveshaft header kit from Gear Drive. It'll sound and run better with the lake pipes I'm sure. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1408282955.240449.jpg

Once I get the front brakes buttoned up and the car is back on the ground I'll start on the exhaust.

  16. The brakes are finally bled with no leaks now. I kept finding small leaks in 2 of the fitting and one of the new wheel cylinders leaked like crazy. So I had three broken fins and a hand full of nicked up ones on the front Buick drums. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1409250615.163884.jpg
I kept building up welds with my tig until I had it built up enough to shape new ones. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1409250720.760018.jpg
A little grinding, a little filing, some bead blasting and I resurfaced them and there good as new. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1409250855.784109.jpg
Just waiting on a set of shoes from Bob Drake then I can throw it all together. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1409251015.696112.jpg

In the mean time I also started on the headers, forgot to take a picture tho.

  17. Thanks for the update, fabulous job on those fins. Doesn't surprise me though, this is so top notch build from every angle.

  18. Thanks man, appreciate it.
The drivers side header is tacked together. I'll final weld it tonight and metal finish the seams. I still have to figure out baffles and a small turn out for the end of the pipe. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1409329238.395344.jpg I'm gonna send them out to have them ceramic coated when I'm done.

  23. I finally got all my front wheel bearings and seals so I could put the front drums back on. Got the brakes all adjusted and the wheels back on so I had to roll it outside for the first time. ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1411056336.934135.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1411056359.527178.jpg
