    Been worked on the rear - cut off the brackets on top of the bones and smoothed them out-
    Final welded the rear brackets squared up the rear for the last time.

    Heated a spot and dimpled the housing using a ball peen and a big hit with bfh-

    The rear hangers were not the same distance from the rear- so fixed that too... seemed to be a difference in the forging an 1/8" is an 1/8"...

    Thank you!! Wish I had more time but it's starting to look like a hot rod! (-:

    I want to add that the rear crossmember is off a 37 ford, it's been flattened and then sleeved for a front spring- so that spring is a 40 ford front. Much narrower and a softer spring rate. The rear hangers then had to be readjusted because they now reside inside the A body and won't protrude out the wheel wells- an old trick.

    Most people make brackets for those bones to be much lower on the rear end but I wanted the hangers directly off the rear of the axle otherwise it would make the rear sit lower in the chassis and the kickup would need to be even higher- so they're axle huggers-that's why the Heat dimples were required-

    I swapped out the front a wishbone ball mount with a 32 as well-

    With all the mods on just the rear, the new bolt circle, 12" zephyr brakes and Buick drums it's crazy how much crap I did in that first pic and looking at it most people will never bat an eye... (-: which is good. It all looks like it's supposed to be there.

    Been working on the rear some more-
    Finished welding the torq arms and blended them to look cast-
    Welded the bone brackets
    Did some more fine turning to the brackets-
    Pulled the rear axles to replace bearings when I pressed them off I figured I would check and see if the faces were off from welding- @alchemy I did it , couple light passes they were pretty good!
    Going to press on new bearings and finish relieveing the Buick drums to clear the backing plates.
    Rear end setup is close to done-
    I'll move to the front end next.

    Then it's off to have everything(EVERYTHING!) chrome plated?

    I'm gonna paint it this color - gold frame, chrome front and rear axle and bones- chrome trans and all the metal crap that bolts on- all chrome-
    Hemi is getting painted pearl white-
    Pearl white interior
    Then it's ---->
    Party time. -rock the furry Mullet!

    Been obsessing over the shape of the front cycle fenders- I rounded them off, didn't Mikey likes it..., then squared them off a bit with rounded edges- making little vents on the top to crown them a bit..

    I want them to run about a full third of the wheel from the center back as close to the tire as possible-

    the rears I plan to make more squarish and will only run about a 1/5 or less of the slick- really small.

    Tuck, are you planning on taking any springs out of that '40 front pack, or just using it as is? I have the same on my chassis mock up, but was planning on removing every other spring. Seemed like the whole spring pack would be very stiff on my '27 roadster.

    No just running as is- if I jump on it, it seems to move pretty good and I do t want too soft a ride in this car- I actually prefer it to be a little stiffer. I bet your t will be lighter and depending on what you're running for a motor I bet you'd be fine pulling a few leafs out.

    Connected the shock mounts with a custom shaped bar that follows the crossmember- will finish and fill the gap with a lip on the back of the front crossmember-

    Dropped off my first batch of parts to get chrome plated- the axles and bearing plates along with 6 stomberg bases... I figured since I had the axles and bearings split nows the time to do them! (-;


    This dude is gonna be my new best friend over the course of the next year (-:

    So I had this idea for holding my u-bolts vertically in place because these ubolts don't have locating pins and even if they did imagine what would happen to the paint when you tighten them... made this plate in literally 30 min that mimics the front 29 crank hole plate and will be chromed along with the u-bolts. The plate with have locating pins instead.

    Just think about how much your kids are going to love spending time with dad in the roadster. You are building memories here. From your other build thread, it looks like your oldest already loves spending time in the garage. Awesome job.

    Tuck, it looks like your doing a fantastic job, in everything you tackle.
    Make sure you show that you appreciate Mrs. Tuckster and are thankful for the flexibility to juggle all this.
    P.S. Family looks great, I don't think they even need to go to the chrome shop
