I decided I needed to start an official build thread.

    I'm building a 60's era SHOW & GO car-
built for the strip and built to show...

Lots of chrome and candy paint with lots of functional go fast parts...

I've been staging and working on getting back most of what I had before- been obsessed with buying back tools and I'm almost there- There is still a lot of stuff I'm trying to replace-

    I've been really happy lately.

Its been two years since I've been able to do anything and all I wanna do is build in the garage-

The only thing I haven't had a lot of is time... mainly because I'm working so much to fund everything... on top of that Danielle and I are getting MARRIED and were having a BABY! :)

I just want to say that I hope that all of you guys that have helped me know that I think about you all the time when I'm in the garage. If it weren't for the hamb and my pals I wouldn't be this far along. I mean it... some days I'm just like HELL YEAH... and I SMILE really big-

I've been posting progress on Instagram because its easy- but I decided Its rude I'm not posting progress here... so HERE IT GOES!! :) I hope I make all of you guys proud. :) I hope I inspire some people to build awesome stuff in their garage-

Well I'm building... this roadster and a pickup- the pickup is in a different direction of what i was building before the fire but its something I cant get out of my system and just need to build! I'll post a thread for that too.

Some days I really miss the shop.. but I don't dwell on it... it usually pushes me to work harder. I just want a place to create and right now thats my Garage-----> which I love.. a lot. Its just a two stall attached to our house... and believe it or not I print shirts in here too- Its like everything all packed in tight- and I build outside on our front slab- I have stuff everywhere haha-

I don't care... I think its so rad.

I remember Larry Alexander telling me stories of when they first started back in the day working in a shop with dirt floors and snow blowing in the cracks of the walls in their booth... I think about that a lot.

    ----------------------------------------------------------------

    OK so attached pics---->

You can see my setup- its like a big L shape in the garage-
Most of the big tools took a while to jockey and get- but I got em.

This summer I looked up an ad for a Hemi and ended up buying a fab table along with it- The table weighs as much as a full size Cadillac- its pretty awesome.

I started out with a stock model a frame- I based everything off the frame that burned- which has since been recycled.

Flattened the front cross member and have a 14" kickup in the back- roughly... pie cut the front frame up front-

IMG_2860.jpg I started to clean up my bones-

32 bones- filing flat and using Corey's tapered bung ends with model a tie rod ends.
    IMG_1939.jpg

32 heavy axle which I still need to ship to get dropped...

A perches I'm cutting and chroming-

I posted a pic of my steering box- I'm going to mount it similar to how I had it before- I'll post more pics of this later- its late and I need to crash-
    IMG_1896.jpg
Posted a pic of my sandblaster because I have everything on WHEELS! It all rolls out on the slab when I need room in the garage-

    Thanks guys! Seriously-

I'm really excited- about the wedding and the baby- we were trying for over a year- started to think there was something wrong and it might not happen... but it is happening- and now it just makes the future seem that much more awesome- We both feel lucky/blessed-

:) I had to get up early- block sanding a T roadster today at Perrys- then I'm back to workshops and teaching starting Tomorrow!

I keep looking at that mags and white wall threads and smiling... because I'll be running mags and white walls-
    [IMG]

although I would argue its a show car so I get a free pass- because thats what I see in the little books and I can't wait to mount these Hurst Slicks Cody and his dad capped for me on the vintage ET 5 spokes I found-

I picked up a couple polishing cones at IOLA that fit this German porting machine- (im not sure of the correct name for it) its like an industrial die grinder with a flex cable- so I'm gonna restore the ET's before I mount the tires.

    I have 5.60 15's up front- firestones-

    Nice.

If I may... get as much done as you possibly can in the next nine months or so. It's all going to rule, but you will look back and be absolutely dumbfounded at the amount of "free time" you had before.

Haha...I'll second that. My son just started high school and my daughter is in the 4th grade. I think we have had some school, sports, 4-H, etc event every night and weekend for the last 10 years...;)

Tuck's gonna be a dad. A kid is the best thing you can ever build.

Hot rods rule. Kids are better.

    Thank you :) :)

I've been preparing for this- trust me- its either now or never. I often wondered if I would meet the right girl... out of nowhere- she hit me like a frying pan :) Literally... thats what it was like.

    Things are gonna get rad.

I'm gonna do this stuff till I'm 90 and whats cool is all these tools that I'm getting are old industrial tools that won't wear out in my life time- or our kids... so if cars are something they're interested in... awesome- if not... no big deal- I hope they find their own path my job is to protect, facilitate and guide- :)

Mean time... Its ON- I have some awesome ideas for this car.
