Has anyone seen this before? I have a chrome 4" dropped tube axle that has a hole for a grease nipple but no hole for a drift pin to keep the king pin in place. Would it be safe to have a machine shop drill another hole on the end to install a drift pin? This will be run under my 30 Model a chassis axle.jpg

I see it in your pic they use small threaded Allen bolts with a pointed end.

That axle is for 49-54 Chevy car spindles, not Ford spindles.

AH shit, i should have been paying closer attention Don, thanks for pointing that out. I bought a pair of new modified 49-54 Chevy spindles from Speedway the other day. The grease nipples will be on the spindles won't they? Thanks for the clarification

No need to grease there, assemble with anti seize in case you ever need to take it apart. Grease the spindle bushings once a year and wipe off the excess.

My Son is running the same axle (but with hairpins) on his T bucket and using the same Speedway spindles. They work great. All you do is put a set screw into that threaded hole to keep the kingpin from popping out the top.
