Our 48 Chev truck undergoing some work. Has Jag IFS/IRS and just had the 70s generation 250 Chev 6 & 5 speed Toyota engine replaced with a SBC & Auto, so I can tow my drag car easier. Im hoping the suspension will settle a little, but we had some big earthquakes down here over the past 18 months, so the roads are rooted, so cant go too low.

And then swapped the old engine & box, plus a complete, but disassembled truck 454, for a 28 Model A tourer. Tourer is complete but dissembled too

How has it been since all that bad stuff went down? I haven't heard much of anything since the initial quakes.

Is that Touring a wood framed or steel framed body?

We had some more shakes today, with the biggest being about a 4.1 which was the 71st to biggest we have had since September 2010. We have had over 10,000 aftershocks, which is unprecedented and really stuffs up on the city rebuild. Repair cost is now expected to be over $30billion

Everytime there is a biggish shake, building stops for another three months while everything gets checked again & while the engineers decide whether they need to raise the building standards again.

Spoke to a pharmacist mate today & the front 1000sq of his shop is buggered & has to be demolished. Building quote to replace the front of the shop is $350,000 which is crazy money.

The insurance companies are screwing the claimants blind too

Tourer is steel framed. Apparently none of the ones that came to this part of the world had wood. I dont know enough about them to know if the tourers only came out in steel

I was curious as I have seen a lot of Wood framed fords in Australia, and I wondered if they came to New Zealand too.

Well I'd love to drive her to Bonneville in August. I have a 351 cleveland and C4 ready to drop in, I know its not the most traditional combo but it sure would be fun. Maybe a Flathead somewhere down the line.

351 would give it some get up and go and it's a Ford not a sbc. Good choice in my book.
    Good Luck

Can you post some pics of the worst rust? Looks to be almost as bad as the 1950 gmc 450 I may pull outta the woods. I dig your 39 chevy coe though.
