The whole weekend was surreal...I'm still shaking my head how amazing it was...time stood still for a few hours on Saturday and I was taken back in time...the smell...the sound... it was like a dream.

  8. Thanks for posting all the great shots.....I was so dam glad I made it to this event as it was like going back in time to me. So many bad ass hot rods & kool customs. I will run this over and over in my head for a long time...Thanks to everyone that worked so hard to put this great event together...

Thanks for adding the photos Craig, many of those rigs are ones that I didn't get to see because my knees weren't up to what was going to be a long walk from any available parking lot to the camp ground on Sunday. It would have been nice if they had kept one bus to shuttle people from the dirt/sand lot where the race cars staged on Saturday to the entrance of the camp ground for us that may not feel up to a seriously long walk. I'd have probably taken another couple hundred photos on Sunday from what I've seen on other's photos.

I'm with you...my knees kill me walking long distances, and that was a long hike from the parking lot to the camp ground, but it was worth it. Especially so since the weather cancelled so much of the activity otherwise. Sorry about the duplicate pictures in my post. Don't know what causes that. Hi-tech isn't my long suit.

Thanks for sharing the photos - I need to take a while to study 'em in peace...

However, please tell me what the heck is this aluminium beast?

I remember that "aluminum beast from years ago but don't remember the details. Some searching shows that it is a Hunt Hollywood house car about 1940 as far as year model goes.

biggest draw back to that is, condensation inside tubing rust from inside out. In the NW it takes about 3 years.. been there, wish I wouldn't done that !!!1

now watching TV show Chasing Classic Cars - showing visit to TROG East last year - always great to watch - those that talk of setting up replacement drags for TROG West at El Mirage, etc would just not be the same as running early cars/bikes on the beach
