I run a pretty good set of original double humps lot of time/$ was spent on them they are what they are true 60's I have nothing to compare them to they were on my blower motor but I now have them on my old 327 what would be a great choice of aluminum cheater heads for my .40 over 350 with a 6-71 im in the middle of putting the blower motor back together as soon as I get a set of heads.

Remember, Camel hump trick flow's are 60CC only. Great for flat tops, not so much so with domers with todays pump gas. They have great flow numbers for the money. I am pretty sure Summit owns trick flow.

This thread is new enough that I don’t feel bad bumping it up . Anyone here running the trick flow head that can tell me what length pushrod you used ? Iknow you need to check to make sure , but just for comparison.

Pushrod length is determined by many component factors besides just the assembled heads.

  11. I'm watching this thread. I will likely be buying a set of these heads in the next year. I e mailed Trick Flows tech dept and they have plans to start making these heads with a 62 cc comb chamber ( this summer?) not sure what other features.
From a super chevy article /build using the dhc 175 heads ("For pushrods, we chose Comp Magnum pieces (PN 7644-16). Their 5/16-inch diameter was perfect for our Trick Flow guideplates and the 7.750-inch length was optimum for our valvetrain.") http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/1905-upgrade-the-power-of-your-gen-i-small-block-chevy/
I agree that checking the push rod length is too important , than to rely on an article.

I saw that same article too , I was just curious on who was using what. I’ll have them on the engine this weekend and can measure for sure .

  13. Cool- thanks for reviving the thread, good luck on your project!
If your up to it, can you detail you build?( cam, pistons/ rings- compression ratio, head bolts( washers??) head gasket- maker and thickness? final quench?)
    I'd appreciate the info!

Large journal 327 , 5.3cc dome piston , .028 gasket . Schneider cam 284/294 duration 480 lift 108 lobe separation. I’m not sure about quench . I’ve been driving it with stock camel hump heads for 2 years , I wasn’t sure about these because of the 175 intake but they out flow the brodix Ik180 and 200 and have higher compression with the 60cc chamber . I’ve been using a Weiand dual plane from the 60’s but I’m going to try a edelbrock single plane now.

I did the flow testing for Speedway. They spent a day at my shop taking pictures while I was evaluating all aspects of these heads.

So a question to clarify: Speedway heads, are they Speedway's own or TF heads? Either way doesn't matter, I've been a customer of Speedway since 1975 and can't say anything bad about them. Might be an interesting head for my 327 for the "Whatever" project in a year or two.

Anyone know how the Speedway heads compare to the TF ones in flow?

the Trickflow head has better airflow. With the price of the heads being almost equal I’m not sure why people would buy the speedway. Unless they had some option that was needed . I’ve never seen the speedway heads in person or know anyone who has them, so maybe I’m missing something.

That's a pretty good difference, if the prices are close. Thank you for posting the info! Gene.

FYI, I just received a response back from TF. I asked if there was a set of 64CC chambers coming in the future. Here is their response:

    Hello Chris

At SEMA 2019 TrickFlow had a demo DHC 200 head. This head has a 65cc chamber. Due to COVID all of the new products that where set to be released have been pushed back. At this time we are looking to have these released mid 2022 but this may change. The final casting and machining have not been approved by our R&D team yet.

    Thank you
    TrickFlow

Talked to TF at the track this weekend. Looks like they have a good prototype for the 64cc. Should be going to production soon.
    Here’s a pic of the DHC-175. It’s a nice piece.

  23. Must be good, back orders at Summit. Imagine, if these perform as promoted, once these begin to catch on, the demand will be tremendous .. based on number of double hump engines in the market. That being said ...iron camel humps $$ are dropping fast.. in the $150 / set range at last swap meet..... they will be door stops in 2022.

Just wish they offered them with a larger combustion chamber for those of us wanting to put a little "boost" into things. I have a set of their Super 23 heads with 72cc combustion chambers that I would swap for these on external appearances alone.

I spent $550 on my last set of 462's. They are in the attic wrapped up in plastic. I doubt I could get my machine shop bill back.

  28. Agreed....I built a 427 bbc engine for a friend, he gave me NOS 034 angle plug bowtie castings in the box, for the labor. Cost to put in usable condition...$2200. (they require valves, springs, studs, guide plates, then chamber work to bore size, unshrouding, bowl work, and flowed.)..... boat anchors... cuz too heavy to make wall hangers.
