Hi, can any one help...I have a 59/60 Cadillac factory 3x2 manifold (until I can find some speed equipment) I was looking to run 3 Rochesters but have just been offered 3 Carter WCD carbs that were used on Cadillac engines from 1946 to 1951. These ones were intended for the Cadillac engine in a Stuart tank.
    1) Would they be any different to carbs fitted to cars of the period?
2)Has any one else used 3 x Carter WCD's and how were they?
3)Whether they will fit the manifold I have?
    Cheers Kevan

  2. If it's a 59-60 Cad Tri-power the outer carbs are the larger version of Rochester 2 bbl (I learned this the hard way when I rebuilt my carbs). I believe the BB Chevys with Tri-power had the same setup.

Here's a thread about that subject:

The carbs used on the tanks were radically different than those used on passenger engines.

WCD's are wonderful carbs, WHEN PROPERLY CALIBRATED.

The 1959 Cadillac 3x2 manifold has two different size bases. The tank carbs would fit the center, but not the ends.

    Jon.
