Here is my first bosses ‘55 straight axle, blown small block tri-five. I drove it many times and even took it on a few dates. Ended up w mini tubs, narrowed 12-bolt, power windows and even air conditioning (yes, you read that right). He was a pure genius and a true master. I was lucky to have worked for him for almost 7 years. Many knew the car and the owner and about the only races we could get were bikes. Sure wish I could have bought it when he let it go after 30 years of owning it. Regards, Randy

  21. yeah it’s pretty bad,
I just picked it up, last guy owned it almost 40 years. Street raced it a bunch. Cool history, used to run mid to high 10s is the claim.
He started getting it prepped to paint and it sat for awhile until I bought it.
Lots of work ahead. Just gonna get the stance right, ditching the 275s in favour of some 29.5 slicks I had. Then on to the body work, and figuring out what power train to run. Just trying to enjoy it along the way.
I’m going to figure out how to keep it true to a gasser while being able to enjoy it with the kids and road trip. Going to be a balancing act for sure.
