The way Peter Broadribb found Gene Moody's NHRA record holding 55.
I put a 49`54 chevy pickup axle and springs, you have to rearch the spring a little bit. 2x4 frame build out. actually works great especially if you arent going fort he nose bleed
look. used a manual s-10 steering box, speedway draglink and tierod. stock steering arms bolt right up to pickup spindles. fabbed up some shock mounts. oh yea, just remember the leafs are not quite paralell from the factory. wider in the back and narrower in the front. just a little bitt o mess with ya.
Thanks, but that was a 2008 post. I got it figured out with a f1 front axle and speedway springs and hangers.
I talked to the owner of this car for quite awhile. Pretty cool story.

Has there ever been a street machine that a set of Cragar S/S' didn't make look just a little bit better?
And no matter what anyone says, I think a '55 "street freak" is kool.
