Was this 55 painted a deep, wine red some years ago? I remember a 55 Chevrolet with "Buick" side trim running at what then still Seattle International Raceway in the 80's. Same car? I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Anybody have any idea about what year the orange D/G 55 150 with the 993 in the window is from? Pretty neat car! Thank you again for posting! Sent from my SM-G550T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
I look at the photos of "The Sidewinder" and "Wompin Wagon" and really miss the days of going to Oswego Drag Raceway back in '68-'70. Even though the cars are faster and a whole lot more sanitary looking these days, the appeal (for this fan) just isn't there. The "sport" of the Sunday drags has been replaced by the onset of professional amateurs. That's not a slam at anyone, that's just the way it is.
^^ I've got to wonder where the "Foolish Pleasure" '57 Chevy is from. There were a couple of "Grand Automotive" shops in Chicagoland but I don't know if they were also outside the area. ^^
DANG! " Hello tower, Flight 409 requesting permission for takeoff". Each year Tri-Five Chevrolet represented. The paint on the C/G #237 55 Chevrolet could cause flashbacks. I had red acrylite side windows in my 56 Model 150 Utility Sedan Pro Bracket Car; it was painted refridgerator white; the windows were a little eary at night. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
