The pic of "Shake, Rattle and Run" looks like it's coming off the line at US 30 in Indiana. To me, it's a shame that the car (the name, really) evolved into a pro mod. It became a wicked car, for sure, but lost the personality of the vintage steel bodied race car.
55 YEARS AGO. 75-80 Dragway in Maryland 1962. Ronnie Bristow on the left , yours truly on the right. The good old days!!
This isn't a very good photo but it's a favorite of mine, "The Commanchero" '57 Chevy being towed through the pits at Oswego by a 1963 1/2 Galaxie in 1969.
Not a straight axled, stripped down gasser but one of the most well known magazine project cars, Popular Hot Rodding's Project X. This was on display at the U.S. Nationals in the early '90s.
Although it was be for my time (the first version) the project X 57 was a favorite of mine. As a side note I was friends with Orlie Kuder who was the original driver of the project X car and can be seen in the first popular hotrodding article. I'll see if I can find a picture of his personal 57 that he raced. Sent from my SM-G550T using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
