I haven't seen very many 4 door hardtops but they're out there; I love how the hardtops look and I really like the not so popular 4 door thing!

mine, I was going 15mph passing a tractor when he turned into me. if just the tire woulda hit it wouldn't have been that bad; but he straightened the wheels back out, which brought the gigantic metal wheel hub right into the door...the fender is fine where the tire hit, things went fubar when the hub hit. both he and myself were at fault so I decided to keep it off my driving record and I'm just going to fix it myself.

don't mean to derail the thread, you guys are putting some bitchin pics up!!

This is my roundy round, she runs a 250 six banger. Pic's were from a few years back, lately she has just been sitting in the back yard rusting.

We all though that was the only one on the road in our area at that time, until we passed a black and cream stocker heading in the other direction. a week later in the same place we saw a 56 four door hard top, same color as the 57... not real common but yes ,you do see them .

This was my (R.I.P.) Dad's '57 @ 1986. He bought it freshly painted in a barn (bugs and all), junk motor and everything else to put back together for $5k. We drove this car to a bunch of pre-48 rod events and they always seemed to let us in the show.

I'm picking up this wagon later this week.

  6. Here's mine! Everyone's seen it before... but I just figgerd it should be on the Tri-five page! I just got done putting a single four on it... and took it for a late night spin!

"Why a single four, Sam?" You may ask... Well, I want to put the hood on it and don't want a hood scoop.

We'll see how it runs when I go to the drags in a couple weeks.

    Sam.

  12. Getting ready to wake this puppy up from a long mid winters nap....My friends 55 gets motivated by a 12.5 to 1 comp. 468ci BBC, vertigate shifted M-22 rock crusher (love that gear whine), backed up by an even more gear whinnin' 488 rear...Car was put on a severe diet, all lexan windows including the windshield, 'glass doors w/ pull up seat belt strap windows, 'glass tilt nose, 'glass rear bumper and 'glass lift off deck lid....Wicked fun car to raise some hell:D..

  26. Yes Johan, you are correct. They are 56 Buick tailights that I cut to fit. There is a company out there that is making custom tailights now that look similar to these, but I don't recall who it is..............

Just you basic black hardtop--was our main car for many years and ran at Sears Pt. and Baylands--had same engine but with a built PG--paint is 26 years old but still very nice old car--also have a black 57 FI ht that came out of the central valley--bought it in 77--sold it and bougt it back--apart now but painted, all chrome done, engine trans. and rear are fresh--just need to put back together and spend $$$ on misc, uph, etc. at 65 I better get on it so I can enjoy it
