Saw this at a lot in Paris, KY this morning. [IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG][IMG]

  2. that is an unusual continental kit rear bumper treatment... don't think I've ever seen one like that before.

That '57 continental kit rear bumper is WILD! I never saw that style before. Was that a factory part? It seems way too complicated of a piece to be made by the aftermarket, which usually just extends the old bumper out, or makes a bolt on style center section, which is most common on a '57. The amount of work it would take to reshape a bumper into that shape would be incredible.

Can't say I love it stylistically, but it's very intriguing.

My favorite 56 color. My grandpa bought one new in this color combo as a two door hard top bel air with a 4bl dual exhaust. Only cool car he every owned as he was a “practical man” and “cars were for mere transportation.”
He later gave it to a kid in 62 or 63 because it was old and was going to start having problems and because the dealer would only give him $100 or so credit towards new Chevrolet.

There is a thread about how the car was wrapped on here somewhere. Found it, sorry, it was on Tri-Five.com.
