Well, duh, after zooming in I think it's actually just the stock '55 hubcap but maybe with a bullet added on? Anyone else think so? It almost looks like the area surrounding the bullet may be some kind of custom job as well but cant tell. Looks like the circle part with the bowties may be there still but just the white paint is stripped from it.

  13. Going through some of my old photos from back in the day and came across a picture of my 55 that I owned in 1966 and drove until I got drafted in 1968 when I put it in storage. It had a 265 with duel quads and a 4 speed with 456 gears and was a blast to drive. When I got out of the army I ended up wanting a Corvette so the 55 went to a new home but it sure left me with a lot of good memories!!!

    Here's a slightly better picture.
55gnrs22.jpg ...and a cropped zoomed in picture of the cap alone. If you look close, it has little Chevy bowties around the mid section. Maybe someone can help you identify now?

Nice work man, yea it looks like a stock '55 Chevy hubcap with a bullet added. I'm going to order a set of bullets probably this week and see if I cant rig something up similar.

    Thanks!

This happen to me one time at Lee Speedway in NH. I got to drive my buddy's 55 stock car. They were running warm-up laps for the Sportsmen class stock cars. To get his car running you had to give it a push with a truck. Well they push me onto the track, the old girl fired up, I goose a few times to keep it running and while doing so ran into a Super Modified, that was not suppose to be on the track. I did not have a hard hit, as the guy in the attached picture but the guy in from of me was really piss.
