Was out dragging home another project and ran across a couple of Tri-5 chevy front doors. Price is great if they're coupe. Not so much if they're not.

I'm trying to figure out if they're for a coupe or sedan. The door measures approx 46 1/4 outside edge to outside edge. The window area measures approx 33 1/2 outside edge to outside edge. The door width seems right but the window measurement seems off a little. Hope someone can help me.
    Sorry, no pics.

  3. Im away from my doors right now so im going from memory.46 inches sounds right for length for a two door..The back edge of the door has a curve just below the post.On a four door the door is straight down from the post.

If it has a window as part of the door it is a sedan. The coup it doesn't have a window frame.

I should probably clarify these are NOT from a hardtop.

Ok. We're good on the 46 inches.
Would there be any reason why the measurement from side to side on the window area would be 33 1/2?

I measured but had nothing to write on so maybe I forgot the measurements by the time I got back to the truck.

What is the size of the front door on a 4 door?

I just grabbed a pic of my '57, it's raining out but I'm getting more like 35 1/2" edge to edge on the upper window frame. There's only one stamping for 2 door sedan doors for all 55-57 Chevy and Pontiac doors, if they're 46" long they're 2 door sedan pieces, I'd bet the upper measurement was just wrong. 4 door doors are a lot shorter overall, no way they're that.

If the price is right I'd be all over those. That's a big piece of what you need to convert a 4 door.

ok...so the choices are 2 door sedan, or 4 door sedan.

    The coupe is a hardtop.

The price is REALLY good. Some old guy told him they were from a 4 door and they looked too long to me so that got the ball rolling.

He's asking about 1/8 of what I see them going for.

Doublecheck the measure, but I'd be on that.

The only odd door in the group is the Nomad Door, straight on top and it is a hardtop door, meaning it does not have a upper window frame. I can tell you from experience a two door hardtop door will fit a Nomad but has a downward curve at the back.
