Transmission Cooler question

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by DanBabb, Apr 12, 2011.

  1. Running a TH350 in my Dodge Truck project.

For my initial startup and engine break-in, can I just block off the cooling line ports in the trans? I won't be driving the truck...just running it for the required amount of time and RPMs.

Will this cause a load on the trans at all that would require cooling lines?

Before I put the front end back in, I'll have to remove the radiator, so I don't want to have to fill up the lines and connect them to the radiator only to have to remove them.

Hoping I can just put fluid in the trans and block off the cooling ports till it's road worthy.

loop them together, blocking them could cause issues.
