Trans Swap

I'm swapping a ST400 for a TH400. Everything I've read says they're the same exact trans except for the switch pitch feature and the bell housing. I'm having a hard time finding one the same length at 28" long from bell housing to the tip of the tail shaft. Anyone know the specs on these things? Also if I do end up having to go with a longer trans what's the going rate for a driveshaft chop and balance and is there a cheap reliable shop in the Fort Worth area? Thanks
