My dad has a 54 buick with a 322 nailhead in it and i guess this has the closed driveline set up...he wants to put a open drive line in it but keep his 322...has alot of goodies on this motor...if i understood him right he wants to know if the bell housing from his dynaflow will fit on a later model dynaflow...he said that the 322 has a different size bolt pattern than a later 401 or 425...he has found a guy that has a 64 wildcat..the guy took the motor but my dad was thinking of trying to get the tranny and rear end to work in his 54

Not sure if an early Dynaflow bell will fit a later transmission, but a '64 Wildcat most likely had the first TH400 in it anyway.

The '64 trans will not fit your '54 nailhead. There are options available, though. I can't tell you all the details, but go to the Buick nailhead groop on Yahoo and you will get all the info there.

If you are in SoCal, PM me, I may be able to help with a few parts.

    Happy wrenching,
