    Most likely the car ran in the Altered class, that permitted a 25% engine setback and center steering. The steering box was mounted high enough to clear the transmission and also used a lengthened sector shaft.

    Bantam w/ cowl vent of mystery grafted on ? Maybe.
     
  19. Take a look at the cove- it extends onto the cowl at the bottom, so they are a match.

    Any Bantam gurus on here verify as to whether they used a side vent on the cowl? Of course, it could have been added...
