The car belonged to Lou Bingham and had dual spare tires in the front because when he lived in L.A the police hounded him about his fender less duce, so he found a set of fenders off of a limo.

50+ years ago a friend bought an old wrecking yard. I worked for him on Sundays. He had an early Comet and I started to put the front clip on my 60 Ranchero. It didn't fit just right like I thought it would. Plus (I think) it had quad headlights. Too bad, I was trying to make a Comechero (sp?).

The core support on a Comet and Falcon are interchangeable but are different shape, chances are if you would have installed a Comet core support on the Falcon the front clip would have bolted on. The taillight insulation would require some reconfiguring to look right.

No, the car in the photo is a ‘26 or ‘27 Roadster, the car Rickman drove was a ‘28 or ‘29.
BTW, was the car Rick drove owned by him or Pete Petersen? I think I had read it was Pete’s and Rick used it sometimes to haul his camera equipment to photo shoots.

  27. Isn't this the T-rpu that Lou Bingham threw together to tow his coupe to Bonneville?
