Like the fat front tire. Don't like these 30" skinnies going on the front of the custom bikes of today.
Fresh restoration, if you paint something black make the surface flat.
Liking that big tire!
So, the driver of this car is Russ Truelove. I knew Russ for years and he was a customer of mine when I worked at the Chrysler dealer in the 1990’s to early 2003.
Great guy that knew all the original guys in the nascar sport.
A famous photo here in N.Y.
I spoke to Russ at length two years ago great guy, I wish I had written down everything he told me.
He drove the car he rolled on the beach form the dealership somewhere in the North East. (Conn?)
The car was also financed.
He said the loan officer saw him preparing the car and said that better not be the car we loaned you money for.
I can't remember how he got out of that part, he said the first thing his wife asked was "How are we going to get home?"
He said, "Forget that How the hell am I going to pay for this car!"
Not needed but fun;>I'm the one on rear fender,Steve Reep is on his running board,we just completed adding a V8 Ford Y-block/photo from early 1960s
I was thinking it was Ricky Bobby on fire

Russ was form the Waterbury, CT area and the dealership that sponsored him was a mercury dealer out of Woodbury, CT.
He saved the wrecked car and built a new one from some of the parts and a new car. After he retired from NASCAR racing the car sat in a barn on his property.
He said he decided to restore the car at some time and it was in a museum by the Daytona speedway for awhile.
Glad you got time to talk to him, he’s a great guy.
