I'm no Tom Hanna but I'm pretty happy with the TWINS Body progress. Down to the last of my aluminum which a friend gave me off a trailer that had been damaged. Just made it :D

    Rocky,

I love that drivers view - you should duplicate that with a dragstrip background. Maybe at the HAMB this year?

    Such a killer build!

You may not be Tom Hanna, but you are building one fine looking digger! Almost too bad that all of that aluminum will be covered up with the bucket. :p

    Thanx Mark!

Everthing 'cept the rear was done with measurements and bent 1 shot, the rear I made a cardboard pattern, cut the piece big and trimmed to fit.

    We'll see ya there;)

HaHaHa, I'll show off this body for a while, build and test some Alky/Nitro carbs then mount the "T" body:D

  7. I vote no on the T it looks way too cool as is ........................JMHO

Thanks Chris! The chassis is fully welded and the body is done less some removal of paint and stickers (the aluminum was off a Nascar trailer my friend pulled at one time) that need to come off. After some paint and pick up the rear end housing that's getting powder coated I can start putting the pieces together. This week I'll start on the 350 that I'm putting in place of the 307 that resided in the LH side.

Thanks Tim, Fuller had those Buicks laid over!

This week/weekend has been good. I painted the chassis with rattle cans and @ .99 (lowes) it only cost $8 :D and I can touch it up.

My son jokes with me that I finally had something powder coated, the rearend housing cost $45, it looks Bitch'n and should resist the wear and tear of getting in and out.
After installing the rearend housing I had to fit the side panels.........
With that all done I put all the pieces together and added my (painted);) aluminum drums.

Mounted the battery and assembled the front end and we have a roller!

Now I have to get the engines ready. When I pulled the heads off the 307 I found the EX valves had been "Kissin" the pistons, luckily no damage to the camshaft. I never thought that .480 lift would interfer but I'll be checking the 350 when I assemble it:eek: The goal is to have it together by next weekend for a local car show so I'll have more regularly! Rocky

Thanks everyone! The Battery is a "Dry Cell" so I think it's OK, but the car won't pass TECH at most tracks anyways :D I'd like to remove the battery all together and install Mags but $$$$$ prevents it! Can't wait to drive it again!

Nothing wrong with that rattle can paint job, easy touch up and essence of garage built hot rod. Really coming together nicely!

Hope to see this thing in running condition in Tucson. I did get to check it out at eagle field during the build phase, looks really sharp now.

Any battery mounted in the drivers compartment has to be in fully incased in a battery box.

    Still Kinda "NUMB":D

When the "T" Body is mounted I could mount it under the Turtle Deck.
