There is some awful advice in this thread. go to Oreillys website and check cylinder bore sizes. For example my 1960 F100, 7/8 rears, 1 1/16 front--thats what the factory used http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/search/Wheel Cylinder/01324/C0066.oap?keyword=brakes&year=1960&make=Ford&model=F-100+Pickup&vi=5149598 the master is 1" you can use a 1 1/16" master for a softer feel but that doesnt solve your problem. Call Master Power brakes and ask him http://www.mpbrakes.com/ http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/detail/OBH3/1022975/01292.oap?year=1960&make=Ford&model=F-100+Pickup&vi=5149598&ck=Search_brakes_01292_5149598_855&keyword=brakes&pt=01292&ppt=C0066 I used a 1964 F100 booster
The sedan is totally driveable now. Went down from 1 1/16 to 15/16 on the front, and up from 13/16 to 15/16 on the rear. As far as I'm concerned it's fixed. Thanks guys...
I suppose the equal cylinder sizes front and rear reflect the heavier rear weight bias on a sedan relative to a pickup. I'm glad you have reached a conclusion. Just make sure the rears don't lock first in a panic stop in the wet. Mart.
