I believe it's a 1908 JAP Aero engine of which there are only 4 in existance. 3 are in museums and the one you see before you.

I love it, hey at least the wood grains running in the right direction. A fellow rolled up to our local cruise in, in something simular to that. Except that it was a 4 banger flattie, exposed valve train. So cool, He even wore the old era garb. Hav`nt seen it since. I told him now thats a real hotrod. He walks away without a peep. probably sick of answering questions to us gawkers.

Surprisingly few negative comments in this thread regarding the oak rails.

There were more early cars with wood frames than realized: Some of them had oak frame rails skinned in light sheet metal.
Control Line airplanes use wood fuselages, oak or maple rails glued in for engine mounts: model airplane engines can make 1 H.P.! (and more and less, depending on size/specs)
I'm building a Bunch Midget tether car, 18" wheelbase, with oak frame rails.
I cut out and fabricated a steel pair, but replaced them with wood...something real Classic about the oak!
    Excellent thread, really enjoyed it.

think it was spelled Bleriot. back then lots of car companys made horse drawn conveyances buggys coaches etc. they just started experimenting check out Studebaker they made wagons. The Morgan used a wooden frame into the sixties I believe maybe even later!

How the hell have I survived so long without seeing this?
Talk about sinister looking. The more I learn about it, the more I love it.

Simply beautiful. It's technical perfection of the era on wheels. I have very, very deep respect for the owner using it for what it was made for in stead of letting it rot in a museum. Downright amazing it is.

OMG That's one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen ! The man who built that car wasn't crazy, he was in love. ! All of you would be ooh-ing and ah-ing if it had T sedan frame in it.
    Yah , It doesn't fit the forum. It's a beautiful Car though . . . . . . . . .
